How People Revealed That They Did Not See the Killing

If a person said that Michael Brown was shot dead in the same place where he stopped running and turned around to face police officer Darren Wilson, then he did not see the killing. In fact, Brown stopped running, turned around to face Wilson, and then charged about 16 yards toward Wilson, according to the investigators.

Look at this overhead photograph of the scene:

In the image's bottom-right corner is a driveway labeled Copper Creek Court. An investigator told the grand jury (page 32) that Brown stopped and turned around at the intersection's northwest corner, meaning approximately the spot where the letter "O" is in "Copper".

As Brown advanced toward Wilson, he was shot first at the spot labeled "20".

Despite being shot several times, Brown continued to advance toward Wilson (who retreated from that advance) but then fell dead in the place shown by the body silhouette in the middle of the street. The investigator told the grand jury (page 89) that Brown's entire advance was 48 feet (16 yards).

The police investigators marked Brown's farthest eastern position with a traffic cone, which is shown in this photograph:

The grand jury transcripts, Volume 24, pages 31-33, record that a police detective told the grand jury that such a point was confirmed by multiple eyewitnesses:
Prosecutor:
Next board I’m going to mark Grand Jury Exhibit 105. …. And why is it that this cone was placed at that location on Canfield Drive or Canfield Road?

Detective:
As best we could tell based off of witness accounts, that would have been the furthest point east that Michael Brown would have went to. So that intersection of roughly Coppercreek Court and Canfield Drive. ….

Grand Juror:
… is this the point where he stopped in the roadway and turned?

Detective:
Yes, ma’am. We are basing that off of witness statements as best we could tell. That was the point that they had made reference to and so we used that as the furthest eastern point to go to.

The above images were created by a frequent commentator, who calls himself Gary, at The Conservative Tree House. I don't know anything more about him. Links to some of this other drawings are in the Helpful Webpages area in the upper-right margin of this blog.

The photograph below shows the distance from 1) the blood drops during the middle of Brown's charge to 2) the the large blood pool where he fell dead. (Compare with the red cones in the above image.)

In the foreground, blood drops (tagged 19 and 20)

The basket on the street's yellow lines is on the place where Michael Brown fell dead.
Brown began his charge from the driveway in the background, beyond the
light pole decorated with balloons.
Many witnesses -- in particular Dorian Johnson, Piaget Crenshaw and Tiffany Mitchell -- unintentionally revealed that they did not see the most significant seconds of the incident when they claimed that Michael Brown was shot dead in the same place where he stopped running and turned around to face Darren Wilson
